Lever vs. Ratchet

Lever load binders have been the tool for securing chains on loads for generations. Is there really a good reason to switch from a tool that has gotten the job done for years? TIRES staff encourage you to use the safest method to get the work done. Ratchet binders reduce forces to your body. To engage a lever binder, you will need to exert at least 170 lbs of force. With a ratchet binder, you only need 10 lbs of force. Which do you think your body will prefer?
